How to Enjoy Charleston Without Breaking The Bank

In Charleston, there is always something for you to do. Whether it is eating, exploring, or nightlife, Charleston has it all. The only problem is that it can get pretty pricy. Luckily for you, Charleston has many activities that work for any budget.

You might have already driven over one of the biggest landmarks in Charleston. If not, it’s a must-see. The Ravanel Bridge is the 3rd largest bridge in the Western Hemisphere. It has a great walking path with one of the best views of the harbor, and nothing beats watching a sunset on the bridge.

Another great option is visiting the different beaches Charleston has to offer. Folly Beach, Sullivans Island, and Isle of Palms are great options for spending a day. Each beach has a unique feeling, but they all have the warm Lowcountry ocean water for you to enjoy. On Folly Beach, you’ll find people surfing, fishing, paddle boarding, eating, drinking, and shopping. In fact, there are so many things to do on Folly, you could spend an entire week there! Sullivans Island has beautiful long beaches with soft sand perfect for lounging or walking. Isle of Palms gives you the best of both worlds. It is a very beautiful beach with a quaint downtown area featuring shops and eateries. Not many places in the world have as many unique beaches as Charleston!

If you want to stay downtown, check out the multitude of unique boutiques, furniture stores, spas, restaurants, and bars. If you travel south, you’ll eventually run into some of the most beautiful, one-of-a-kind architecture you’ll ever experience. The Battery, located at the very end of King Street, is a historic area perched right on the Charleston Harbor that features antebellum homes and charming parks and gardens.

Charleston may seem like an extravagant city, but the real beauty is in the places where you don’t need money.
