Our Favorite Spots to Have a Drink in Charleston
There’s nothing like an ice-cold drink to quench your thirst in the crazy southern heat of Charleston! We’re here to give you the run-down of some great spots for a good drink near The Market in downtown CHS!
A mimosa is the best way to start the day. Toast All Day on Meeting Street offers a bottomless brunch that will set the tone for the rest of your day. The food is truly outstanding, and the mimosas are out of this world. For a perfect surprise, don’t be afraid to request the breakfast shot!
After you’ve finished those mimosas, head over to The Vendue Rooftop for some more amazing cocktails. The Vendue offers stunning city views and stylish seating, making it the ideal insta-worthy backdrop you won’t want to miss. Our favorite is the Strawberry Basil Lemonade, which includes Cathead honeysuckle vodka, house-made basil strawberry lemonade, and fresh basil leaves on top. We recommend pairing it with the salsa, guac, and queso trio, perfect for sharing with friends before heading to dinner!
For dinner, we recommend Henry’s On The Market. Henry’s features multi-level roof decks and indoor seating for dining. You can grab a quick cocktail, like a Moscow Mule or Lemon Drop, upstairs while waiting for your table downstairs. Their menu is full of fresh seafood and endless options for anyone!
Finally, you can’t skip Carmella’s for a post-dinner dessert drink! Carmella’s is a dessert bar that features signature dessert cocktails, gelato, and even real cake! Our all-time favorite from here would have to be the Espresso Martini. It contains vanilla vodka, espresso liqueur, simple syrup, and espresso. It’s a real kicker at the end of a long night! Don’t forget to grab a Gelato Sandwich on your way out for the walk home!
Charleston is packed full of different notable bars and restaurants. Keep an eye on our blog and we’ll continue to point out some of our faves! We recommend making reservations at any places that accept them as wait times can get long on busier days. But, there is nothing wrong with grabbing a drink while you wait. Enjoy!
